The band
reunited for
Pete's youngest son's graduation in
June of 2009. The mainstays, Needles and Pete, of
course played, but we were very fortunate to have
Gary back on lead guitar, Zippy I, our original singer (now
singing with Str8 Jacket), and Chris 6 in from
Colorado for this gig. While it wasn't a "bar" show, it
certainly was as fun as any show we have done.
Needles, Pete, and Gary made a trip to
Pittsburgh at the end
of October, 2009 to jam with the guys in Doghouse 11.
Much fun was had by all, and talks of learning new material
danced in our heads.

UPDATE
II
Gary has moved on to a better job opportunity in Philadelphia,
and is still living in that area. Chris and his wife, Jessica, recently
had a daughter and have moved to Colorado. Ron
and Charley are still looking towards a future with a new Call In
Sick, but ties to their personal lives have put things on hold for
the time being.
Call in Sick did perform a few more times at various
events in 2007, and those instances were for
Pete's
oldest son's graduation (with Zippy II),
Browellstock, and
Chris's wedding.
Keep checking back from time to time, because we're hoping to get
back out there sooner or later.
Thank you!

THE
END OF CALL IN SICK?
LOCAL BAND ANNOUNCES INDEFINITE HIATUS
ALLENTOWN,
Pa.–What do you
get when you combine a beer bong, endless quotes from The Jerky
Boys, an inflatable penis, several bottles of assorted Boone’s
Farm beverages, an ass hat, and a garage band rocking out to party
songs and original tunes? Years
of good times with good people.
After
four and a half years, rock band Call In Sick in Allentown, Pa., may
have performed its last show.
The
current lineup of Call In Sick consists of Charley “Needles”
Wittman on electric bass, Ron “Pete” Peters on drums, Gary “TA
Garrett” Kiefer on lead guitar, and Chris “Sixx” Holland on
lead vocals and rhythm guitar.
Although a couple of these musicians have exited and
re-entered the band at some point,
each of the foursome is definitely an anchor member that has defined the Call In Sick experience over the years.
Due
to Gary accepting a new employment opportunity and Chris expecting
his first child soon, the band has decided to take a break that has
an undefined expiration date.
Charley and Ron have been playing in bands together since the
mid 1990’s, and even though both are ready for a break, they have
not exactly called it quits.
“We have played with quite a few cool musicians at many fun clubs
and bars over the years,” said Wittman.
“The band is fun and these guys are like family, but we
always promised that our personal lives would not suffer due to band
activities. Right now,
we all need to spend more time focusing on our personal lives, but I
truly believe we will resurface once again in some musical form one
day down the road.”
Call In Sick performed its last show
Saturday, July 29, 2006 at a
private party. According to those in attendance, it was a memorable evening,
even though some cannot remember.
